Christmas in Maui

Celebrating Christmas in Maui with my family was a blast. The best part was talking to our missionary brothers. Madsen loved opening his fish bowl from Santa and then playing in all of the ribbon and paper. We had so much fun- minus the trips to the doctor. We went for lots of walks and enjoyed the warm air.

My first U basketball game

Jason took Madsen to his first UofU Basketball game. He said Madsen had a good time. I noticed that Madsen had red all around his mouth when he returned...no wonder he had a good time...Jason was feeding him licorice!

Trouble Makers

My Grandma Okland went to Norway this summer and brought back sweaters for her great grandkids. My mom thought it would be nice to get a picture with Ben, Kate and Madsen wearing them. Much easier said than done. Ben and Madsen got in theirs and Kate refused. Two hours later when she changed her mind...Ben and Madsen were tired and in no mood. Needless to say- the photo did not turn out great but it was pretty entertaining to watch these three. Kate and Ben were in town for Thanksgiving and it was fun to see them.

We would rather watch TV then have our picture taken.

Are they laughing at us?

Kate demanded to have gum in her mouth before the photo was taken. I love that kid! Madsen thinks that being 8 weeks older than Ben gives him the right to tease.

Cold weather in SLC = Me and Boo in Vegas.

Madsen had his first taste of Vegas. He woke up both mornings at 4am and was ready to party. I would take him in his stroller to go walk around the casino and shopping area and would pass people just heading up to bed at that hour. That one hour time difference really threw the little stinker for a loop.

Cool- my own seat on the plane.

Today I am 6 months old

Madsen is 6 months old and is about to crawl. He rocks back and forth on his hands and knees and then goes backwards. Pretty soon he will be crawling away and hiding from me. I also gave him his first hair cut...I thought I could handle it myself since there were only about 10 remaining baby hairs to cut off. Goodbye to the comb-over.

One year down...one to go!

Elder Okland has been in Germany for one year. We miss him so much!

Looks like his schedule is wide open....

Fluffy!

Halloween

Madsen had a fun filled day on Halloween - he went to a parade at OCC in his costume, to see dad at work and to visit Grandparents. He was not very excited about getting in his costume. The turtle neck about sent him over the edge- that will be the last one of those he will ever wear.

I was Wanda with a group from work. There were five wives and one husband...I was dressed so nasty that Jason did not want me to stop by his work. I can't blame him... But I stopped by anyway.
Elephant Man

Get me out of this!!

He knows Jason will give him candy....

When beetle juice came to the door on Halloween night- I heard my mom say "do you have a bag?" She thought beetle juice was a solo trick-or-treater. It was Lauren....Madsen even thought she was funny. I bet next year seeing someone dressed up like that will send him into a full meltdown.

Excited to be out of his costume and hanging out in bat pants waiting for more trick-or-treaters.

Happy Birthday Laird!

I told Jason and Laird that I was going to post my pictures from Sun Valley on the blog and they wanted me to throw in Laird's birthday that we were celebrating tonight.

These two are a little strange when they get together...

Sun Valley

Madsen had his first road trip this weekend...which was a little scary considering he HATES his carseat. He was a champ and we had a blast. We shopped the town, ate good meals, went to the chocolate factory 15 times, went for lots of walks and played cards .

Jason and Danny cooked dinner for us-they are quite the chefs.

Outside of Grumpy's- the best grub in all of Sun Valley.

Julia and me in the back seat to entertain the little duffer.

The Sun Valley lodge- watching the ice skaters. The guy in the fleece jacket was quite the skater. Spins and jumps.

Julia and Danny- Madsen can not wait for his little friend.....

The fam

Madsen in his halloween PJ's. Which reminds me.... I have some pretty cool halloween bat pants that I need to start wearing for the season. Lauren- you better still have yours.

5 Months Old

Utah Fan
Madsen is five months old- he is getting quite the personality. He loves watching T.V., eating bananas, screaming, laughing, playing with toys, and chewing on everything. He has one bottom tooth coming in and he is staring to grow back some of the hair he lost. Eating his bananas.

Laguna Beach, CA Summer Trip

It is becoming an anual trip to go to Laguna Beach in the summer. It is the best weather there and is so much fun. We shopped, ate, went to the beach, hung out by the pool and met up with my friend Rachael. (she was taking the photo)
Yes, there are better places there to have a family photo– but when there is a two year old involved that won't get off the horse this is what you get. Everytime it stopped Kate would say-again? We must have spent $10 riding this horse.

Big Ben, Kate and Madsen at the pool.

Back to see my cousins

We went back to HOT AZ last week. I think that was our last trip until it cools off! Madsen got to hang out with his cousins. Kate loves to keep tabs on Madsen and Ben.
Hanging out in PJ's after the bath. Ben is trying to ingore Kate and Madsen- they are a little too crazy for him!

Boo on her birthday with her two grandsons.

3 Months old

Madsen got a new pet....yeah right!! Jason saw this crawing along our back patio. Good thing his dad was here to catch it. I caught a baby one in the garage the week before. YIKES!

Madsen is just starting to hold on to things. He likes to hold this dog and chew on it.
How can I say no to this guy sleeping in my bed?

Poor Madsen is loosing his feathers.
