A Sunny Vacation

We went to Arizona this week to see my brother and his family. Jason joined us on the weekend and we had a lot of fun. Madsen was quite the stinker and earned himself a my name is trouble t shirt.

Just hanging out

These two together was bad news. Madsen would scream (so annoying) and it would make Ben cry. Then Madsen would cry. Oh man I can't wait until they are friends and not bugging each other. The baby sitters told us that they had to separate them and then they were fine.

Boo with Ben and Madsen

Jason and Madsen strolling around at Tempe Market Place.

A night out without Madsen. We went to the Indian Casino, out to a nice dinner and then to the mall.

Hanging out in the sun. This was before he crawled over and ate a mouthful of rocks.

Grandma Boo (Mika as Kate calls her) gave Kate a jeep for her 3rd Birthday while we were there. Kate was so excited that she "helped" her dad put it together and could not wait to drive it. The battery had to charge for 18 hours. It was the last thing she did before bed and the first thing she went for in the morning. When the battery was finally charged she hopped in with her dog Todd and was ready to go. One push of the gas and she jumped out and would not go near it. Funny kid.

Madsen would have loved her to take him for a ride but she refused. Madsen in a Barbie jeep....trouble.

Out of the bath with crazy hair.

Time to go home...his two favorites.. A balloon and my diet coke.

10 Months old

In between moving twice in the last six weeks- We have managed to have a good time with Madsen. He is 10 months old now and loves to go out and about. He had his first hair cut (not counting me trimming off his comb over baby hairs), loves to go to the arcade, (so do I- DDR) and he says Boo, mama, dada, ball and lots of other mumbling. He is a busy little guy. His favorite thing to do is take a bath and swim on his stomach. Here are some photos of him this last month.

Out to breakfast again with dad

Chowing down at the Pizza Factory. He tins ice cream. I know... he's not supposed to have it.

After dinner he was off to the arcade. Jason and I get competitive at Skiball and Madsen collects and eats our tickets.

I took Madsen to the discovery Gateway with his cousins. He had a great time exploring around.

Madsen loves his cousin Taylor. She is so cute to him.

More arcade games with Papa Varner

Cookie Cutters - When I drove by this place I thought it was a cookie store and that they would sell lots of cutters. Hmmm I was disappointed when it was a kids hair cut place. But now that I have a kid needing a hair cut- it was perfect. He got in the plane and they put the wiggles on the tv in front of him.

I have never seen someone get a hair cut this fast. He was in and out in 30 seconds. That was probably because about half way through he had a melt down. Hence the sucker.

All done. So fancy looking. I actually liked his scruffy hair- but after a few comments from people.. I gave in and had it trimmed. I was nervous he was going to look like Lloyd Christmas.

Cancun

We had the best time vacationing in Cancun. We had never been before and now it is top of our list. Madsen had a blast there and was in the best mood the entire time.

I let Madsen loose on the beach one morning. The sand was so soft and he loved to crawl all over. He would face plant and keep on crawling. He ate a good amount of sand.

This guy loves a good meal

When we were playing on the swings the first morning there was another couple playing there with their little girl. We started talking to them and they mentioned how they were headed to Salt Lake after this because they had business there. Then they said they were from Boston. Jason then realized that it was Brian Scalibrine who plays for the Boston Celtics. He was on his all star break in Cancun with his wife and little girl. They were the nicest people and we ended up hanging out with them. Madsen loved playing with their little girl.

They got us tickets to go to the Boston/Jazz game when we got home. It was a good game- the Jazz won!

Jason and Madsen went swimming with the dolphins. I did not do it so that I could video tape them. Then right when it was their turn- of course my video camera battery died. Dang. My pictures are not that great because I was kind of far away. The only little guy is Madsen. Bad pictures.

Madsen was supposed to take a nap and Jason was going to go out on the jet ski. Madsen refused so we walked down to the beach to watch Jason. Then we decided that we would go for a spin with him. We were not even out of the slow zone and Madsen cashed out. A few bumps put him right to sleep. He even stayed asleep while I handed him off to the worker and took off his vest.

A week in sunny Arizona

Madsen and I spent the week in Arizona with Jamie and Jenny. Jason joined us for the weekend. It was so much fun to watch Madsen, Ben and Kate play together. I want to stay here until May -when it warms up in SLC. (and my house is finished)

Madsen at breakfast with Jason. I was catching some sleep.

Jason said he and Madsen were the only people in there under 90. Madsen was putting on the charm for the old folks.

Clowning around...

Ben is a dream baby and I would like to snatch him!

6 Month pictures

We took Madsen to get some photos in November when he was 6 months old. He was loving the attention and would not put his tongue away. Silly guy. I must say..he is pretty cute.

Another week with Mr. Stinker

Madsen getting a breathing treatment. He only sits still for about 2 seconds.

While my mom takes a shower I will organize her shoes.

What happened to leaving him and coming back to him in the same place?

Madsen and Dad ready to go to dinner. It is a big mistake to take Madsen to dinner....he goes to bed at 6:30.

Almost 8 months old and very busy

Madsen has begun to crawl and is into everything. I can't leave him alone for 30 seconds. He is either under my night stand pulling on a cord, putting his fingers in an electrical outlet or trying to pull himself up on something that can't support him. This is a fun stage and he is rather curious.

Busted getting into the garbage.

Up he goes. Looks like walking is just around the corner.
